I've phoned all my friends and they're coming to the party./I've been phoning my friends (and that's why I haven't done my homework). - Pps says how much f an activity is complete/Ppc says how long the activity has been in progress. I've written two essays/I've been studying all afternoon. - Pps may give the idea that something is permanent/Ppc may give the idea that something is temporary. My dad has worked in the same shop all his live. I've always lived here/I've been working here for the last two months. - Pps is used when we want to say how many times an action has been repeated/Ppc is used when we want to emphasise the process of change over a period of time and that these changed are not finished.
